Rep. Tom Tancredo Calls Miami, Florida A "Third World Country"

PALM BEACH, Fla. – A WND interview in which Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., called Miami a "Third World country" has ignited a war of words with Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and other lawmakers insulted by the remark, which is now being echoed in news media across America.

"Look at what has happened to Miami. It has become a Third World country," Tancredo told WND in a Nov. 19 story as he lamented how the nature of America can be changed by uncontrolled immigration. "You just pick it up and take it and move it someplace. You would never know you're in the United States of America. You would certainly say you're in a Third World country."

Senator Frist: No Presidential Bid In 2008

Take Advantage of Swiss America's latest FREE CD offer, "Rediscovering Gold In The 21st Century" by clicking on the Spinning Gold Icon at the right..

Washington, D.C. – Third Branch Conference (TBC), a coalition of over 100 grasstop leaders of center right organizations across the nation, today noted the announcement of Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) not to run for President in 2008.

"He is a very good man diminished by a staff that was testicularly challenged and by Senate colleagues who are much dimmer lights. He would have been an important presence in the 2008 race and could still make a great running mate. I expect he will comeback another day because this guy has a genuine heart for public service," said Manuel Miranda, TBC chairman and former counsel to Leader Frist.

"As Majority Leader, Frist made history in his dedication of time to the debate over judicial nominations and helped prepare the way for someday returning the Senate to its proper constitutional role of giving or denying consent to federal court nominees with well-lighted debate and a fair, honest up or down vote. Frist was key to clearing the way for the confirmation of two constitutionalist Supreme Court justices," said Miranda.

"The Senate's stewardship over the courts was Leader Frist's signature issue. It gave Republicans the Senate majority in 2002, enhanced it in 2004, and its absence led to its loss in 2006. Unfortunately, Frist had poor counsel in surrendering on the courts in this past election year," Miranda said.

"I wish the very best for Senator Frist, his wife and three fine boys."

An e-mail from Senator Bill Frist follows:

I wanted you to hear from me directly, before you heard it on the news.

Twelve years ago, I pledged to the people of Tennessee that I would serve two terms in the Senate - to serve as a true citizen legislator - and then return home. I said I’d come to the Senate with 20 years experience in healing, spend 12 years serving in Washington, then go right back to Tennessee to live where I grew up. And I will do just that.

That decision to self-limit my term was grounded then, and rests now, on a firm belief that change in public service and politics is healthy. That it fundamentally forces a perspective of purpose and a sharp focus on service and results. It reminds all participants that they just occupy a position for a period of time. And it liberates one to concentrate every day on serving those who are represented, not to preserve one’s own station.

I’ve known everyday for the last 12 years that I would spend two terms and no more in the legislative branch. The time for Karyn and me to leave Washington has arrived and we do so with great respect for the institution of the Senate and my colleagues, for our government, for our President, for our democracy, and for the principles of freedom and liberty upon which our country was founded.

People ask about the future for Karyn and me. What is next?

We are ready to return to Nashville and private life. We will seek the best opportunity to serve mankind. We will stay actively involved in formulating innovative solutions to the seemingly insurmountable problems that face Americans every day -- high cost of health care, energy dependence, the threat of radical Islam.

I may return to what I’ve done for most of my adult life: heal through medicine (the way I saw my dad serve since I was a little boy riding around with him, his black doctor’s bag tucked between us, as he’d travel the neighborhood making house calls).

I, of course, will immediately resume my regular medical mission trips as a doctor around the world to serve those in poverty, in famine, and in civil war. That is where my centeredness is fueled.

Politics is a noble occupation. Healing is a noble profession. Service to others underlies both. Karyn and I, and our three boys, now three young men, thank you for our opportunity to serve.

I look forward to continue working with you through VOLPAC. At the beginning of next year, we'll launch a revamped website and internet operation that refocuses our efforts in support of Republican candidates and centers our ongoing discussion on the challenges facing our country.

To keep the discussion going, I will also launch a national summit or series of summits focusing on important issues such as America’s dangerous dependence on foreign sources of energy and the high cost of health care.

More details to follow on these ideas and the exciting changes VOLPAC will make in the days ahead...

Bill Frist, M.D.

Gold On The Move Again !!!

Take Advantage of Swiss America's latest FREE CD offer, "Rediscovering Gold In The 21st Century" by clicking on the Spinning Gold Icon at the right..

The U.S. economy and the stock market are booming, right? But conventional wisdom holds that gold moves in the opposite direction of economic prosperity. So why is gold on the rise, now?

Today, gold is on the move for many reasons. A falling U.S. dollar, rising debt levels and the instability of governments in many energy producing countries are all factors that could effect precious metal prices. The conditions that exist today may cause gold’s value to actually double or even triple!

With all of the uncertainty around the world, experts are now calling for $1,000 plus gold prices by 2010. "Gold could easily move above $700/oz. by year's end," reports (Full story: Metals:the Trend is UP!)

Even gold “bears,” like MAD MONEY's Jim Cramer says: "Gold could reach $1,000 if the Chinese stop buying our paper." (Full story: Who Expects Four-Digit Gold… and Why!)

Smart investors recognize that good information is critical in making investment decisions and that things are not always as they appear on the surface...

The good news is the most profitable phase of the new gold rush has not yet begun!
This new phase of the gold rally will be explosive -- as the public finally discovers why gold has become the best investment of the 21st century -- and joins the gold rush!

New pro-abortion Congress Will Try to Ratify Dangerous UN Treaty….

Pro-abortion Catholics to lead the fight…

Your help needed right now…

There is a real and immediate danger that a radical UN treaty may be forced through the US Senate. The treaty is called CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women).

If ratified by the United States government, Roe V. Wade MIGHT NEVER BE OVERTURNED. Why? Because the CEDAW Committee at the UN has determined that abortion on demand is a part of the treaty and therefore binding on states that ratify it.

Here is the further problem. With the impending change in Senate leadership, pro-abortion Democrats will soon be running the Senate Committee that has the power to send CEDAW to the Senate floor for ratification. And the pro-abortionists now hold power in the Senate…..

Pro-abortion Catholic Joseph Biden of Delaware is chair of that committee. Sitting with him on the committee is radical pro-abortion Catholic John Kerry. Sitting with them is the equally pro-abortion Senator Diane Feinstein.

The CEDAW Committee has……
directed Ireland to legalize abortion……
directed China to legalize prostitution……
directed Krygystan to legalize lesbiansism……
directed Belarus to cancel Mother's Day because it "perpetuates" a negative cultural stereotype……
criticized Ireland for allowing the Catholic Church to great a voice in public policy…

We are asking you to go immediately to and sign the "Petition to Stop CEDAW".

I Didn't Come Here To Make Government Bigger

Take Advantage of Swiss America's latest FREE CD offer, "Rediscovering Gold In The 21st Century" by clicking on the Spinning Gold Icon at the right..

There can be little doubt that Governor Mitch Daniels is one of the most results-oriented administrators to fill the Governor’s chair in the Indiana State House. The number of long-overdue changes he has made to state government is commendable and the aggressive legislative agenda he put forth and accomplished in his first two years has been remarkable. His efforts seem to have set the state on a bright economic path and taken the government’s balance sheet from deep in the red into the black for the first time in years. Governor Daniels is certainly not afraid of tackling big issues.

However, in listening to some of his legislative plans following the election, I cannot get the historic words out of my head that Congressman Mike Pence told GOP Leadership and the White House. Early in his first or second term, Pence opposed the president’s Medicaid expansion plan and took a lot of heat for doing so. Yet, he simply said, “I did not come here (Washington) to make government bigger.”

I don’t think that Governor Daniels left Washington to come back to Indiana in order to make state government bigger. Still, in the last couple of weeks Governor Daniels has proposed a tax increase for a new state insurance program and a huge expansion of the government school system to the tune of a quarter-of-a-billion dollars per year!

On Monday, the governor laid down the gauntlet on full-day kindergarten, saying that a pilot program was unacceptable. He wants every school district to adopt a full-day kindergarten plan that starts ASAP and is “irrevocable.”

The research is from the National Center for Education Statistics Early Childhood Longitudinal Study. There simply is no other study like this one. Unlike many of the studies that seem to show academic benefits for FDK, this one does not suffer from small or non-random sampling of students. The ECLS-K study assessed 22,000 children entering kindergarten and followed them through the third grade. Again, this recent data set is the only one of its kind. Its large sample gave researchers a look at dozens of variables that impact student achievement and allowed them to control for the impact of different kindergarten programs. The study shows the same pattern documented by other lesser studies, which is that children in FDK programs have a modest academic edge over half-day students by the end of the year. However, that edge completely disappears by third grade. The “little meaningful difference” observed by the end of the year is all the more modest considering that FDK students spend twice as much time in school as their half-day peers, at great expense to the taxpayers.

Tatiana Live In "The Dickson/Chappell Report" Studio December 16th

Born Tatjana Matejas in Zagreb, Croatia, Tajci (TY-chee) grew up in what was then communist Yugoslavia. Raised in a musical family, she was singing with her father’s band when she was only four.

Tatiana was admitted to the prestigious Croatian Music Conservatory where she received a rigourous music education with a focus on classical piano. As a young girl, she was a frequent performer on the national stage, appearing in countless musical, theatrical and television productions.

At the age of 19, Tajci became a superstar in Central Europe when she electrified an international TV audience, estimated at over a billion people, in the Eurovision Song Contest. The release of her recording of “Hajde da Ludujemo” (“Let’s Go Crazy”), coupled with the fall of the Berlin Wall, sparked a wave of optimism and an adulation for the attractive, engaging teenager— much like the Beatlemania phenomena the West had experienced thirty years earlier.

As thousands of people of all ages jammed Tajci’s concerts, her records achieved Platinum and Diamond sales. Therewas a Tajci doll, newborns were named after her, and the European magazines and tabloids filled their pages with Tajci stories and photos.

While staying at a retreat house run by the Carmelite Sisters in Los Angeles, Tatiana found her future husband, Matthew Cameron, who encouraged her to tell the story of her own quest for spiritual healing.

Please join us as my very dear friend, Wayne Weible, returns to "The Dickson/Chappell Report" on December 30th !!!

A perceived supernatural religious phenomenon has become a reality for millions throughout the world. Wayne Weible is one of the millions. Those who believe in this phenomenon see it as the singular most important event of our times.

For more than 23 years, the Blessed Virgin Mary has appeared daily in apparition at the quiet, rural village of Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina. This unprecedented series of apparitions to six youths, and later by inner locution to two more young girls, began in June 1981. It continues to the present, with one overriding objective: To bring the world back to God. They are elevated in drama and urgency as she reveals that these will be her final apparitions on earth, because, as she adds, "It will no longer be necessary."

In the history of the Roman Catholic Church, the Blessed Virgin Mary has appeared in apparition many times throughout the ages, the most recognizable names being Guadalupe (Mexico), La Sallette, and Lourdes (France), Knock (Ireland) and Fatima (Portugal). But never in recorded Marian history has she appeared daily for so long a period of time, to so many chosen visionaries, with such profound global results.

Mychael Danna Guests on "The Dickson/Chappell Report" November 25th

(Los Angeles, CA) Well known for his expertise of combining non-Western sound sources with orchestral and electronic minimalism in film music, award-winning composer Mychael Danna scores "The Nativity Story" for New Line Cinema and director Catherine Hardwicke. Danna's score sets the tone for the drama that focuses on Mary and Joseph's life as they travel to Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus, one couple's journey that forever changed the world. Starring Keisha Castle-Hughes and Oscar Isaac, the film will be released this holiday season. New Line Cinema releases "The Nativity Story" December 1. New Line Records releases the score CD December 6.

Being recorded in Los Angeles, the score breaks recent tradition by employing European instruments of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. "My approach is not about a story set in the Middle East," says Danna. "It's about how The Nativity changed history when Europe really flowered under Christianity." To reach his timeless objective, Danna references ancient Christmas melodies written hundreds and thousands of years ago. Gregorian chants, recorders and viols give voice to carols such as "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," originally written in Latin during the 12th century.

Most recently, Danna scored the Oscar-winning "Capote," "Black" for director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and "Tideland" for director Terry Gilliam. With Danna's score, "Little Miss Sunshine," starring Toni Colette, Greg Kinnear and Steve Carell, is in theaters.

Nicaragua President Signs Abortion Ban

Legal Challenge Likely
Managua, Nicaragua (

-- President Enrique Bolaños made the new ban on all abortions in Nicaragua official late Friday when he signed the measure the nation's legislature approved. Now the country officially joins a list of thirty-four nations across the globe that prohibit all abortions, although a pro-abortion legal challenge is probably in the works. The new law changes the country's abortion statute, which formerly allowed abortions in cases when the mother's life was in danger. Some pro-abortion advocates hoped Bolaños, a conservative whose term ends in January, would not sign the measure because the legislature did not increase prison terms for abortion practitioners or women having abortions. Current law calls for six years in prison for illegal abortions and Bolanos has wanted that increased to 30 years, which is different from American pro-life laws which consider women having abortions a second victim. Now that the law has been signed, abortion advocates are expected to challenge it in court. Read the complete story

To Muslims and Arabs across the globe:

Reject hate, embrace love. Bring out the best in Islam by showing your compassion, gratitude and forgiveness. Make the holy land truly holy by giving Israel and the Jewish people the respect they deserve in their tiny little country. This is not a crisis over land. It is a crisis of the soul; a crisis in our faith, judgement and self confidence. Israel should not be regarded as an enemy, but as a blessing to our neighborhood. We need not fear peace, but embrace it.

Now They Call Me Infidel : Why I Renounced Jihad for America, Israel, and the War on Terror (Hardcover) is Nonie Darwish's personal story of tragedy and redemption, as well as a scholarly analysis of Middle-Eastern culture. Every Western statesman, indeed every European and American citizen will benefit from Ms. Darwish's unique insights into the danger to Western civilization posed by Radical Islam and sustained by deep-rooted Arab/Muslim cultural dynamics.

"We are grateful for what looks like a 60% win. We are also saddened by so many losses for so many decent men and women."

"It is in light of the new Democrat majority in Congress that we feel compelled to run for Minority Leader in Congress."

"We are asking for your prayers. The newly elected members of Congress will meet next week for their orientation. This is historically when elections within the Congress for new leadership are held. We anticipate that leadership elections will be held sometime next week, but the date has not been determined yet."

"We are basically talking about a 7-10 day time period to run. "

During this time, Mike will be talking to Republican members of Congress and conservative leaders to ask for their support in his bid to be the next Minority Leader. (This is the position Nancy Pelosi holds in the Democrat party right now.)

Please pray for courage, humility, clarity, energy, and protection for Mike.

Please pray for wisdom and courage for members of Congress as they choose their new leaders.

Hanging in Mike's office is a verse his wife Karen gave him on election night 2000. "Be strong and courageous and do the work."

"We feel God is calling us to step forward. We don't know what the outcome will be, but we are trusting God."

Pro-Lifers: Supreme Court Opening !!!

For weeks, commentators have speculated that significant numbers of conservatives, alienated by over-spending, the Iraq War, and other perceived GOP disappointments, will stay home on Election Day, giving one or both Houses of Congress to Democrats. But for those who care about reforming the Supreme Court, sitting this one out may soon look like a mistake of historic proportions.

For the past several weeks, there has been a rumor circulating among high-level officials in Washington, D.C., that a member of the U.S. Supreme Court has received grave medical news and will announce his or her retirement by year’s end. While such rumors are not unusual in the nation’s capital, this one comes from credible sources. Additionally, a less credible but still noteworthy post last week at the liberal Democratic Underground blog says, “Send your good vibes to Justice Stevens. I just got off the phone with a friend of his family and right now he is very ill and at 86 years old that is not good.”

This week in Indiana, Montana, and Nevada, President Bush raised judges as a key reason to elect Republicans to the Senate. By all accounts, it has been and continues to be a favorite applause line among Republican crowds. Judicial confirmations were key to tight Senate races in 2002 and 2004. Conservatives should not forget the issue this Election Day, when the victory of a generation may be at last within their grasp.

Send the ACLU Christmas Cards!

Take Advantage of Swiss America's latest FREE CD offer, "Rediscovering Gold In The 21st Century" by clicking on the Spinning Gold Icon at the right..or Call Toll-Free 1-877-703-2193 and "TELL THEM CHRIS DICKSON SENT YOU!"

Yes, Christmas cards.

Read on........

What a GREAT idea! Fun with the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) ...... Wanna have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.

As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world. Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it.

Here's the Address, just don't be rude or crude. (It's Not the Christian Way , you know!)

125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York, NY 10004

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 39 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a "Holiday Tree". . . . It's a Christmas Tree even in the fields!!

And pass this on to your e-mail lists.
