Saint Teresa of Avila Feast Day
Saint Teresa was born in Avila in Spain in 1515. She joined the Carmelite Order, made great progress in the way of perfection and enjoyed mystical revelations. When she reformed the Order, she met with much resistance, but she succeeded with undaunted courage. She also wrote books filled with sublime doctrine, the fruit of her own spiritual life. She died in Avila in 1582.
Father,
by your Spirit you raised up Saint Teresa of Avila
to show your Church the way to perfection.
May he inspired teaching
awaken in us a longing for true holiness.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Thanks for remembering the feast day of this great saint. Her spirit is alive and well today and is working in the hearts of those who know her.
I agree. She ranks among the three most important Contemplative writers in all of Catholicism: St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, and Ralph Martin!!!
A group of 5 women just returned from Avila, spending the Feast Week there. To be in the presence of the light filled sculptures of her in the Convento de Santa Teresa inspired us all. The Basilica of Santa Teresa in Alba de Tormes needs support to finish the basilica. If you love her, consider contributing. Just google "Basilica of Santa Teresa".
Thank you for sharing. I will prayerfully consider helping and will also keep you and your friends in my prayers as well!
Pax Et Bonum!
